Agroforestry

This course will introduce students to the basic concepts and current trends in the science and practice of agroforestry systems in temperate and tropical regions. Through a series of introductory lectures, students will cover basic concepts, principles and drivers related to agroforestry practices. Subsequently, a series of guest speakers from different backgrounds will develop seminars focusing on context-specific agroforestry case studies from a multidisciplinary and innovative perspective.

Students will learn about the multiple biophysical contexts that drive the diversity of agroforestry systems, the multiple benefits that people derive from them, but also the socio-cultural systems that influence the management and sustainability of these systems and the current challenges in the global context. and social changes.
